When my son was ready to start preschool I was very much ready to jump back into work. One of the hurdles I faced was that his preschool could be five days a week or three or two.. there was flexibility. Where my son had options with his week, I couldn’t figure out how to make that sort of schedule work for me and a career. How could I afford to send him to school for two days and keep him home other days? What if I wanted to send him an extra day? School and childcare costs are a bit of a chicken and egg situation for many women and I was no exception.
I consider myself to be very lucky to have become part of the AboutOne team through their Comeback Mom returnship program. Before I was a mom I worked a ridiculous schedule and was a very dedicated worker practically chained to my desk in an office.
